Reduce transformation calls (P-CHAN-00609)

P-CHAN-00609

Reduce internal transformation calls

Description

This parameter sets a reduction in the computing time for the path preparation task.
The computing load is reduced by suitable coarse dynamic planning where internal transformation calls are reduced depending on the set value.

Parameter

configuration.path_preparation.reduce_trafo_calls

Data type

UNS16

Data range

25 ≤ P-CHAN-00609 ≤ 100

25: Maximum reduction

100: no reduction (default)

Dimension

[%]

Default value

100

Remarks

Parameter available as of V3.1.3080.11

Note:
However, a reduction in computing time and consequently the number of transformation calls can only be achieved at the expense of a reduced accuracy in the calculation of the dynamics. This results in the following relationship which must be considered for the application. (diagram below)

X axis: set value for P-CHAN-00609

Y axis: expected mean percentage deviations of the calculated dynamic values

The actual achievable load reduction may deviate from the specified value and therefore be smaller.

Example application: Bottleneck in block supply

A bottleneck in the internal block supply can be shown by drops in path velocity that cannot be explained by a physically plausible reason.
One reason for an internal bottleneck can be computing-intensive calls that require a lot of time for the calculation and thus cause a supply problem. This can be due to the transformation, for example, which is frequently called during path preparation.
By adapting P-CHAN-00609 to a value of less than 100, transformation calls are reduced and therefore less computing time is required. This in turn improves the internal block supply process.
