HTML Bootstrap Framework (new features, fixes and discontinuations)
Bootstrap version in current use: 5.1 (as of Release Q1.2023)
The Bootstrap framework (https://getbootstrap.com) on which this HTML Help is based was updated from v4.x to 5.1. Basic mechanisms were therefore fixed in the layout, e.g. the menu now reloads correctly when a link is opened in a new tab.
Other fixes:
- The browser title updates when a page is changed.
- Popovers were enhanced. Popovers show short descriptions when an element is clicked.
- Support for footnotes and endnotes.
- Problems with highlighting search hits were fixed.
- You can now search by filename in Generat.
- The menu reloads when you open a link in a new window or tab.
- The dictionary entry now appears as a pop-up when you point to a link to the dictionary.
- The search appeared twice when the display was reduced. This error was fixed.
- The views for smartphones and tablets were updated.
- Further optimisations to image highlighting.
- Several other minor fixes.
Discontinuation:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) is no longer supported by default as of Bootstrap Release 5.0.
