With ISG-virtuos, you cover the creation and holistic use of simulation models from sales through digital engineering to the operating phase - and all this with just one simulation model. In addition to model-in-the-loop (MiL) and software-in-the-loop (SiL) simulation, we also enable hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) simulation, in which the behavior of the components, machines and systems used, including the fieldbuses used, is simulated in deterministic control real time.

The Windows Solver is a runtime environment for the execution of simulation models in Windows real-time (approx. >10ms). It enables the testing of production scenarios as software-in-the-loop (SiL) simulation, e.g. by connecting virtual controllers like SIEMENS PLCSIM Advanced, SINUMERIK ONE and KUKA OfficeLite.
Real-time solvers (or real-time operating systems) are runtime environments for executing virtual models in deterministic real-time (<1ms). This enables the testing of production scenarios as hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) simulation by connecting real controllers via fieldbus in the context of virtual commissioning and as a digital twin accompanying production.
The ISG-virtuos option packages offer additional special applications besides the basic functions. With these packages, on the one hand, the simulation scope can be increased to be able to perform even more extensive simulations, but also the real-time material flow physics library (MFphys) can be extended by additional packages, such as the Mover and AGV and Tool Handling libraries.
With the tool handling library, tool handling between tool magazines, spindles and handling systems can be set up and simulated. Hence, the tool-handling-library is an extension of the real-time-material-flow-library.
Extension of the real-time material flow library. For the simulation of processing machines, such as milling applications, the removal of material by tools can be visualized in 3D and evaluated later.

The separation of materials constitutes an extension of the real-time-material-flow-library. The functions enable the simulation of chipping and separating materials.
The optional ISG-virtuos technology packages extend the real-time simulation with additional features to increase performance, such as the real-time multisolver package for simulation on multicore systems and the automated creation of simulation models through corresponding ECF/ISGMD and JavaScript interfaces.
This optional technology package also allows multiple real-time solvers to be integrated into the simulation, providing an enormous increase in performance and scaling of the plants through parallelized real-time simulation on multicore processors in the real-time operating system.
With the interfaces for model generation, ECF/ISGMD and JavaScript, they can automatically generate individual simulation models in the development process and thus massively reduce the required modeling times.
